• To review contract documents relating to procurement of services and goods done in the Zone
• Advice on the legal position in all disputes arising between the Company and the Customers

•To make follow up of legal documents relating to titles including land titles and way leaves.

Registered member of the TANGANYIKA Law Society.
Registered Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.
At least 1 year of working experience in a recognised legal firm or institution.

The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) was established by the Act of Parliament No.2 of 1996.The Institute is a semi-autonomous organization which operates at "~m's length" under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The Institute has various roles which all stem on the main role of controlling Cancer in Tanzania. The Institute is currently looking for competent ORCI Employee to fill the following vacancy;

Report to: Director of human Resource and Administration Duty Station: ORCI - Dar es Salaam

Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) The applicant must have first degree in the field of law and must be completed the school of
law/registered as an advocate;
b) Must have at least five years of handling legal matters in reputable organization;
c) Must be computer literate;
d) Must have less than 45 years in age;

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervising Sructinisation of leases and transfers of properties and effect registration of leases and transfer of properties in liaison with estate manager;
Assist the management in evolving legally sound personnel and administration policies, Government circulars, notices as well as devising ways and means of implementing them; Supervise and coordinate activities of all staff who reports to him/her
Coordinating negotiations for general contracts pertaining to leases and transfer of properties; Formulates legal defense and prosecution strategies for cases in which the Institute has interest
Draws up prescribed legal forms and other documents, Gives legal opinion as required by superiors,
Drafts contracts between ORCI and other parties,
Attends and defends court cases on behalf of the Institute,
Provides advice on leases, tenancies and related matters as directed by the supervisor Perform any other duties as shall be assigned by his/her superior.

Qualifications:
Possession of LLM Degree plus one year attendance of Intern-ship /the Law School and must be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court. Must be computer literate, with at least five years of relevant working experience in a similar position.

Duties:
- Scrutinizes and effects registration of leases and transfer of properties in liaison with
the Estates Manager.
- Participates in negotiations for writing general contracts pertaining to such leases and transfer of properties.
- Represents the University in more complex legal issues.
- Liaises with retained external legal agencies.
- Interprets laws and other legal technicalities.
- Appearing in court on behalf of the University.
- Prepares legal briefs and provides legal advice to Management.
- Compiles evidence relevant for court cases involving the University.
- Performs any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.

· Maintain a register of submitted procurement complaints and applications for retrospective approval; and

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
· Bachelor Degree in Law and attended an internship or externship program or
the Law School of Tanzania; plus;
· Master’s Degree either in Laws (LLM) or Business Administration with major
in procurement or Masters of Science in Procurement or any other similar
fields from any recognized higher learning institution;
· Be registered Advocate of the High Court; and
· ICT application skills.
· Should have a minimum of three years relevant working experience in a
similar position in a reputable institution.
