Mechanical Engineer


• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of Industrial experience
• Working experience in new industrial project constructions works
• Experience in machinery installation and commissioning work
• Drafting & reading Auto cad drawings
• Working experience on structural fabrication for new installation.
• Age at least 25-40 years old
• Excellent oral and written communication skill in both Kiswahili and English Language
• Strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple people and tasks; and be a team player
• Good management and supervisory skills.

The following are some of duties and responsibilities to be carried out in this position;
• Ensure activities of all personnel involved in the project are co-ordinated so as to ensure the efficient implementation of the project
• Design work of allocated projects that will include particular responsibility for the Mechanical Services and the co-ordination of all other Services as applicable
• Ensure design work is carried out to the required standards of accuracy
• Quality Assurance, Design Guides and Practice Notes and appropriate statutory regulations and codes of practice
• The Engineer ensures that they are fully conversant with the relevant aspects of the design of the Project under their control and co-ordinates this work to the required standard
• The Engineer provides training and support to graduates and new staff
• Planning and managing allocated resources to ensure the satisfactory staffing of

Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Assisting the Technical Manager for annual preventive maintenance plan and implementation. To keep in mind that the aim of the company is to raise production to the maximum and keep the cost down as possible.
•    To lead the electrical section in collaboration with Electrical foreman and advice the improvement of electrical wiring in all Sao hill industries factories.
•    To check the price and advice Technical manager to order spare parts of electrical section and control the use of those spare parts.
•    To prepare the inputs of the Technical department in collaboration with Fabrication
•    Manager and submit them every Monday and Tuesday before the production meeting
•    To participate in the production planning meeting in absence of Technical manager and give all technical plan to improve production.

•    To plan the weekend preventive maintenance and submit to Technical Manager before Friday for approval.
•    To control the extra hours according to the job done and be ready to justify when needed by Technical manager or General Manager.
•    To control the fuel consumption of generators and be answerable when found not relevant.
•    To submit monthly report showing all job done by the department and specify the spares used and needed for the next month.
•    Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Technical Manager, and the General Manager.

To Support the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in dispatching the duties of the
short-term planning team and provide technical guidance and assistance to and monitoring the activities of the Mining Operations Unit.

EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years relevant experience in the Mining industry, preferably in Open Pit Operation.

Provide support to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in linking budget (medium-term) objectives to weekly and daily objectives through effective mine planning and scheduling. Role is to identify risks, opportunities and constraints and provide timely technical support to Mining Operations team through daily and weekly communication.
To assist the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in facilitating weekly pre-planning and planning discussions or communication sessions with the stakeholders that include Geology, HME, Mining Operations, Survey, Geotech, Drill & Blast, Fleet Management and other role players.
To be accountable for the timely generation of the Bench Operating Plans (BOPs) for the pits following guidelines provided by the Planning Superintendent and Senior Mine Planning Engineer.
To be accountable for ensuring that weekly forecasts are aligned to the long-term waste dumping schedules.
To provide support to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer by timely compiling reconciliation (visuals/graphical and statistics) against plans and schedules on a weekly and monthly basis.
To assist the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in compiling reports on a regular basis in line with internal reporting requirements.
To be accountable for assisting in identifying and ranking the risks in work area and for the team.


Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and basic knowledge in mining software like designing and scheduling.
Must have good written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili Language.
Able to drive and hold a current Tanzanian Driver’s License.
Ability to work within a team environment

Production Engineer I

Position: Production Engineer I -1 Post

Duties And Responsibilities
To work as trainee engineer under the supervision of a registered Prototype Workshop
Engineers with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a “Professional Engineer”
in order to acquire the experience required for registration with ERB on the following:-

• Reviews design packages of machinery, components of engineering systems submitted for production.
• Reviews tools requirements for the production process.
• Undertakes safety measures of production personnel, machine tools, material handling equipment, and other facilities.
• Prepares weekly machine loading and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Assigns production foremen specific workloads and conducts regular work progress review to determine the in-process production controls.
• Prepares and processes request for design changes and ensure their implementation.
• Monitors and control work in-progress, and ensure proper use of machinery, equipment and tools.
• Ensures that all production shop personnel observe industrial safety rules.
• Ensures that materials, parts and tools are available for production and liaise with the supplies office for any deficiency.
• Prepares production process control programmes and work schedules and ensures their applicability.
• Receives work order/job cards from the Marketing department and control job movement in the production shops.
• Maintains good workmanship standards in the shops and ascertain quality of products to meet the required standards.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Science either in Mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering from a recognized institution
• At least three (3) years working experience in relevant post.
• Computer skills are essential

Engineer Grade I (One Post)

Iringa Urban Water Supply & Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) has the duty of providing potable water and sanitation services at affordable prices to the residents of Iringa Municipality for enhancing their health and quality of life. In order to achieve the compact objectives, IRUWASA now seeks applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians who are self motivated, hardworking, honest and committed to their work to fill the following position:-

Position: Engineer Grade I (One Post)

Reports to:Technical Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures construction repair and maintenance of sanitation infrastructure, pumping plants, leakages, water. network services, new connections, meter installations, line disconnections are effectively carried out;
  • Ensures there is no water leakage or wastage in their respective areas of supervision. Ensures waste water treatment, environment of water catchments are hygienically maintained and that water quality monitoring is effectively done according to the set standards.
  • Makes sure that a user friendly customer service is observed through meter installation, reading and bills distribution;
  • Prepares reports, business plans, strategic plans and submitted them to the Technical Manager for review;
  • Identifies illegal connections and water disconnections and takes appropriate actions without delay;
  • Maintains all working facilities - tool, equipment, and vehicles at cost effective prices; Prepare timely and accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports;
  • Conducts regular work performance system review and consults the respective
  • superiors for discussion and rectifications;
  • Provides proper technical solution on Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction. Programs, plans, supervises and carries out all scheduled and not scheduled operation on reduction of water losses in the distribution network,
  • Undertakes comprehensive leak detection, flow and pressure measurement in the network, work with metal locator to find appurtenances, metallic pipes and metallic cables,
  • Undertakes regularly or on request readings from flow meters and pressure recorder, Participates in collection of water and sanitation data, process it by using GIS software,
  • Conduct inspection one carries out correction related to safety, security and occupational health with emphasis to construction sites,
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the respective supervisor.

Qualifications and Working Experience
  • Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma qualifications in Civil. Mechanical, Electrical. Environmental, Sanitary or water Resources Engineering from a recognized Institution who has 3 years of working experience in a relevant field.
  • Computer competence in engineering packages will be added advantages. (iv) Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
Age Limit
Age should be between 25 and 45 years.

According to IRUWASA Salary Scale - IWAS 7 = (1,110,000.00).
